This webinar will discuss the features, risk factors and complications of Shingles infection including nerve pain. By the end of this webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of Shingles, and the role of vaccination in preventing Shingles and post-Shingles nerve pain.


Presenter Bio:

Aliya Syed is a University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy student completing her fourth-year clinical rotation in the Pain Management Program at St. Joseph's Health Care London. Aliya is passionate about understanding the pharmacist's role in balancing medication therapy and non-medication treatment options for chronic pain.
Denise Kreutzwiser is a clinical pharmacist with the Pain Management Program St. Joseph’s Health Care London. Denise transitioned her clinical focus from HIV/viral hepatitis treatment to chronic pain management in January 2017, following the Ontario government’s investment in expanded allied health services at outpatient hospital pain clinics. Denise works as an integral part of the pain management program’s multi-disciplinary team, providing both individual and group-based medication services for chronic pain patients. Educating patients, health care students/trainees, and colleagues about evidence-informed pain medication management is a key part of Denise’s position.
